BioFor her, it had always meant "Piled Higher and Deeper."
Bonnie Barstow had always been the whiz kid. If she couldn't fix it, it was probably unfixable - but the parts could be used for something else. Therefore, there started to be cardboard boxes of them. For her fifteenth birthday, when most girls wanted makeup, nailpolish, and high heels, Bonnie wanted her own soldering iron.
Her father always tried to convince her that she should be a surgeon but she herself said, jokingly, that she would've slit her own wrists to convince him she couldn't stand the sight of blood. And so, with years of hard work, Bonnie graduated with a PhD in Engineering and Computer Sciences. Her doctoral thesis gained the attention of Knight Industries. Soon she was hired on for work on a project the government would have envied: The Knight Industries Two-Thousand project. It was her job to tweak code given her - an Artificial Intelligence - and to organise, just beneath the actual patron of the project, the construction of an indestructible vehicle. It seemed the parts were there, the moulds and the most basic... but she didn't have time to question.
Two months later, K.I.T.T. was finished. Bonnie got to see her project in action, and it was a great thing to see. She became one of four members of the Foundation for Law and Government - and the head technician.
Now, more often than not, she's either at Foundation headquarters or on the semi, to find out just what the nut behind the wheel has done to Kitt. It isn't that she resents Michael - she's just a little protective. She's happy to do her job, and she really feels like she's lucked out to find the job that's perfect for her. It feels like family, and there will never be a job that feels that welcoming, and she'll never find people she trusts like Devon, Michael, and Kitt.
